Summary

This is a modern 586 bedded acute district general hospital and is situated on a single site which has undergone considerable expansion in recent years. A new 11.5 million Women and Children's Unit was completed summer 2004; a dedicated Day Surgery Unit, a new Purpose built Cardiology and Endoscopy units, a new Diagnostic and Investigation unit opened in May 2007; a newly refurbished Breast Unit opened in August 2007 plus the latest development of a new Orthopaedic Clinic and an Emergency Care Centre opened in the Spring of 2008.

Location

The Trust is located close to the East coast of England, 220 miles north of London. The local Airport is Humberside International Airport, which is approximately 20 minutes car drive away. By car the region is accessible via the M62 and M180. There are also direct train and bus access.

Grimsby is situated on the Humber Estuary and is a rapidly expanding town with excellent communications links including access to the main motorway system, Humberside airport and Hull ferry terminal.
